Jolene: The

Response

When I introduce myself I tend to ask "Do you know the song "Jolene" by Dolly Parton?" in an attempt to help whomever I'm speaking with learn how to say my name. As much as I love the song, it always bothered me that Jolene is often made out to be the villain when in reality, Dolly's no-good, eye-wandering, sleep-talking boyfriend is the true antagonist of the tale. Below is the link to my cover of Jolene, but from the perspective of Jolene herself.
